Pic 2 in my Ran-Qui the Amaran Jedi portfolio. Ugh - This picture did not want to be drawn. I went through about five or so failed pictures before I came up with this one... and in all honesty, I'm still not happy with it. The line art in particular... but I think the coloring saved it a little. Her trademark pawprint necklace isn't shown in this picture. It just looked too goofy with the angle she was at.
Those of you who have played the Knights of the Old Republic games probably recognize the mask she's holding... unless you were sleeping the entire time you were playing or something. Since she came from around that time period, I HAD to do something KOTOR related since it's easily my all time favorite video game. The first one anyways... the second one not so much. Probably because Carth wasn't in it very much and I have no shame in admitting that I've always been a bit of a Carth Onasi Fangirl. XD (He looked especially sexeh in the comic books).
Not gonna say what the symbolism behind this piece is... because I like it when people come up with their own conclusions. However, I will say that it has nothing to do with her "falling to the dark side" because she never does that. Comes close a few times, but never actually does.
Credits: *Revan Mask referenced by a Revan toy that I own that was made by Hasbro. * Some of the texturing techniques (particularly the mask/her shirt) came from ~princendymion's Texture tutorial * textures for said techniques were from CGTextures.com
Specs: Time taken: Too long Medium: Mechanical pencils (2H & HB leads), Photoshop (Versions 6 & CS2) Soundtrack: KOTOR Soundtrack... yep... I'm a nerd like that. Shameless plug: She will be up for sale on Furbid soon!
Never played the game, but this looks spectacular.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
