The Jungle's Champion

Random art done specifically for my upcoming art book Na'Kata, my female quetzal battlemage character soars over a tropical jungle accompanied by a few feathered friends . It's only the second time I've drawn this chacter, which is a shame because I really like her.

She is a battlemage, meaning she is equally as good at spellcasting as she is with a bladed weapon. The runes on her forearm are symbolic of her chosen school of magik, which is energy/electricity.

I'm mostly happy with how this turned out... though she has a standard sword rather then her trademark double sided sword (which is as tall as she is). Her double sword would have covered up too much of her in that position.

I had a lot of fun with this one. I love drawing/coloring cute birdies. Especially colorful ones.

On a side note... full avians don't get as much attention as they should in the furry world. As much as I love gryphons, they seem to be a dime a dozen compared to avians... and when I do see full avian anthros, they're more often then not eagles and hawks. Where are the songbirds? The parrots? The kiwis?
