I wasn't sure if I was going to do the calender project again this year, but quite a few people still seem to be interested in it.  So I'm going ahead with it.

Normally a full color commission from me is a minimum of $100... but these limited calender commissions are $50.

Here are some examples of some of the calender girls from last year

There are a few catches, however.

* The character MUST be female. (No "girly boys" or transgendered/herm characters. Sorry. If you want me to turn your male character fully female for this, that's fine)
* The character must be anthro/furry. No ferals. Taurs /may/ be allowed, but I will only accept one taur per calender year.  They must have an animal-like face with a muzzle (or beak) rather then a more human face.
* I'm not going to be "too" picky on character body types. Your character doesn't have to look athletic by any means - and can even have a bit of pudgyness. No obscenely obese characters, though (IE Jabba the Hutt-esque).
* I choose the pose. The calender is themed "1950s "Bettie Page" style pin-ups" so your drawing will fit that theme. Just look up "1950s pin up" on google if you don't know what that is.
* I will send you one rough WIP sketch to make sure I'm drawing your character right.
* It will have a simple background.
* Since I don't want the calender to contain ten wolves and two other species, I'm going to limit the amount of a particular species allowed in the calender to three characters of the asme species in the calender.  So far all species are still okay to ask for!
* You can pick the month you want your character to be featured on. The claiming of months are on a first come-first serve basis.
* One character per picture/commission slot.
* Prints/original artwork are NOT included in the commission price. If you'd like me to mail you a signed print, it will be an extra $10.
* Your commission will be completed sometime in the next two months, since I have six of these to do among other projects, it's going to take some time.
* Payment is due within 24 hours of claiming your spot or the spot is forfeit. I cannot reserve spots, sorry.
* The commission WILL be featured in a printed calender.
* You can ask for as many commission slots as are still available.

If you want a spot on the calender, just comment below with reference pictures of your character and if you have a preference for a specific month (your birth month or what not).  Keep in mind that I don't necessarily do monthly 'themes'... you could get a picture of your character on the beach for the month of December or in a spring garden in August, but if you do have a preference for warm or cold weather, let me know and I'll keep in in mind.  Once I've approved you, I will give you my payment information.

This year I'm assigning months differently then I have in previous years.  I don't want someone who [i]really[/i] wants a specific month to lose out because I assigned said month to someone who didn't really care what month they got... so anyone who signs up and doesn't care what month they get will be put into a queue.  People who do want a specific month will automatically be assigned to that month provided that it isn't already taken by someone else.  Once six people have signed up for the calender then I will assign months to those in the queue.

SLOTS AVAILABLE!  0 out of 6!

Sooo... I know I was going to start on round 2 of my calender commissions today, but it's going to have to be postponed until tomorrow.  I'm just not going to have the time today to keep watch on the journal and do quick replies today.

Why?

Well... the hubby and I have been in the market for a new house.  And it turns out that after four years of my family renting out my grandmother's old farm house to random people, we're actually going to take it.  However, the house's previous renters lived like pigs and there are major repairs that need to be done.  The bedroom carpet needs to be replaced as well as part of the hallway wall.  Not only that, but the entire house needs major cleaning from top to bottom.

So my day is going to be spent starting to clean our new place before we can start moving in.

I know that some people were waiting for me to start round 2, so I hope you understand that I need to postpone for a day.
So, next Thursday, I'll be making a trip to visit my in-laws in Montreal.  It's going to be a 11 hour trip both ways (if the traffic is somewhat clear around Toronto... otherwise it'll be longer) so I'll need something to keep me busy or I'll go crazy... and I could really use all the financial help I can get to help pay for gas and food for the trip.

To help with both problems, I'm once again opening up my discounted sketch commissions.

For $12 you'll get a full pencil sketch of your character.
Example (This pictures a little old, but it should still give a decent idea of what my sketches look like):  [link]

*  I'll be working on these over my vacation, which will last from June 20th to 25th.
*  Sketch commissions will be posted a few days after I get back home.  I'll need a few days to regain myself after the vacation and to scan/clean up the sketches.
*  These are just sketch commissions for now... but if you'd like me to color your sketch after I've shown it to you, we can work something out.
*  If you wanted the original sketch mailed to you, it will be an extra $5 for the US and Canada or an extra $8 to anywhere else.  Sketches will be mailed out 1-2 weeks after I get back.
*  Sketch slots must be claimed by 7PM EST on June 20th, 2013 (or until my undisclosed amount of slots for these are closed, whichever comes first) and paid for by 8PM EST that same day.  I'll only have my iPod touch with me so I'll have limited internet access after that, so I can't make any exceptions.
*One character, no background.
* Paypal only.  And please put your DeviantArt username on the payment so I can better keep things organized.
* You can claim up to three slots.

If you'd like one, please post your character references in a comment below.  Once I approve you, then feel free to send payment.

Slots:
1.  PhoenixHalfbreed
2.  Ehh123
3.  DissonantDragon
4.  PhantomFullForce
5.  JKRolak
6.  Onom
7.  LudoMercier
8.  JKRolak
9.  NewEnglander
10.  AVAILABLE!

Copied and pasted from her submission:
"This is Bracken the pomchi, who I bought as my graduation present to myself last Saturday. But Bracken hasn't been very well since I got her home. After some back-and-forth with the vet that supposedly dewormed and inoculated Bracken, as you can guess from the word "supposedly" the inoculation card I was given when I collected Bracken turned out to be fake. The vet said he had no record of ever seeing or treating this puppy.

Aside from the fact the seller risked this puppy's health by lying to me about having her shots and parasite treatment, Bracken is still rather a poorly puppy."

Needless to say, this was a horrible scam on behalf of the puppy's previous owner.  She is currently taking donations and discounted commissions to help out this poor puppy.  If you have some money to spare, go buy a sketch commission from her.  She's a fantastic artist whom I've bought commission from several times in the past and have been very happy with.
Would there be any interest in a male version of my Anthro calender?  It would basically be the same thing as my female pinup calender... only with dudes in more masculine pinup poses.

I ask because a few years back when I first started this yearly project, someone asked me about a male version of the calender, and I didn't give it much thought because I didn't think there'd be any interest because nobody seems to give a crap when I draw males.  However, if enough people seem interested in the idea, I may see what I can do about making it a reality.
Swiped from VickyWyman on FurAffinity... but I'm going to list off my top ten list of favorite and least favorite movies of all genres. Not just animated movies... since I don't watch them as much as I probably should. >_<

MY list of thew best and worst movies.

BEST

#1 - "Sin City" - I was debating whether or not this should be #1 or #2... since both movies I have for these slots are pretty even for me. I chose this one for fantastic cast, beautiful visuals and fantastic views. Sure it's comic-bookish and a little childish at times and it's definitely not a movie for everyone, but goddamn I love it!

#2 - "Ghostbusters" - I loved Ghostbusters as a child growing up in the 80s and this is STILL one of my all time favorite movies.

#3 - "Serenity" - I'm a browncoat. 'Nuff Said.

#4 - "The Original Star Wars Trilogy"

#5 - "Spaceballs" - Ludicrous Speed! GO!!!!

#6 - "Oblivion" - Very recent movie. Great sci fi!

#7 - "The Lord of the Rings Trilogy"

#8 - Iron Man/Captain America/The Avengers - I couldn't pick one, since I love all of these equally.

#9 - "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe" - This book was one of my favorites as a kid and what really what got me into fantasy (along with The Hobbit).

#10- "Titan AE" - I know this movie got a bad reception, but I still love it so much. It inspired a few parts of my own fictional universe... most notably my Seraph species.

Wow... I just noticed that a lot of sci-fi made the list...

HONORABLE MENTION
Alien/Aliens (This was really close to making the top 10)
Spirited Away (also really close to making top ten)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1 and 2
300
The Matrix
Princess Mononoke
The Dark Knight/The Dark Knight Rises
Wreck-it Ralph
TRON
Shaun of the Dead
The Iron Giant
Robocop
The Lion King
Space Mutiny (Mostly the MST3K riffed version... but even the original is a guilty pleasure)
Halloween
Dragonheart
South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut

And at least ten more I can't think of offhand

WORST

#1 - "Prometheus" - Ridley Scott! How could you do this to your fans?! I actually cannot stomach watching this movie and would have walked out on it in the theatre if I wasn't with two friends at the time. In the words of the Spoony One... "BETRAAAAYAAALL!!! BETRAYED ME!"

#2 - "Clone Wars" - Damn you, George Lucas!

#3 - "Leonard Part 6" - Bill Cosby... I love you. But this movie was... weird...

#4 - "Star Trek - The Motion Picture" - Two hours of nothing... I was soooooo boooooreed watching it.

#5 - "Superman" - I know this is a classic to a lot of people, but I was actually pretty bored watching it. Not helped by the fact that I was never a big Superman fan...

#6 - "Daredevil" - The movie was bad... but it's mostly on here for the horrible choice of cast. Michael Clarke Duncan... I love you, too... but you were no Kingpin.

#6 - ET - Sorry guys. I never really liked this movie. Even as a kid.

#7 - "Street Fighter" - Ughhhh....

#8 - "Catwoman" - I'm ashamed to say that I actually saw this in theatres... my boyfriend at the time wanted to go see it...

#9 - "Eragon" - Also saw this one in theaters because I thought it would actually be good...

#10 - "Mac and Me" - One of the first movies I remember seeing in theatres... This movie actually scared the crap out of me when I was a kid...

HONORABLE MENTION:
"Full Metal Jacket" - I couldn't get into it and I don't know why... since it has a lot of my favorite things. I have a huge soft spot for guys in military uniform... Adam Baldwin is my #1 celebrity... and yet I actually fell asleep watching it. Seriously. This is the only Adam Baldwin movie that I've even fallen asleep while watching... I stayed awake during "Hypersonic" for crying out loud...

"The Room" - It's horrendous... but at least it's amusing...

Howard the Duck
Dungeons and Dragons
Watchmen

People waiting to be assigned a month...

So... Motor City Comic Con was pretty amazing.  I took my portfolio around to different people in the industry and got some amazing career advice.  Also... a new contact in the industry (who has worked for Zenescope!  Yays!).

Apart from that; highlights include my husband making Stan Lee laugh... meeting a Ninja Turtle (Brian Tochi - who voiced Leonardo in all three of the original movies), and getting a hug from Raphael Sbarge, who voiced Carth in the Knights of the Old Republic games (STILL one of my favorite games of all time!)

So now that I'm home, it's back to work.

Just a heads up that there are two big things planned for this week.  I'm hoping to have another round of adoptables up in the next few days.  And at the end of the week after I've finished up a few other commissions, I'm going to start the role call for my 2014 Anthro calendar.

Issue 4 of Intrepid will start the first week of June.  Print editions of issue 3 should also be available by then.

While I know a lot of peeps on my watch list are heading to What The Fur, I will be at Motor City Comic Con this weekend.  I won't be a dealer this year, but I'll be taking my professional portfolio (as much of it ask I have done, anyways) around to show professionals in the industry.

If anyone is by change going to be there this weekend, I'll see you there.  I won't be in costume this year since I want to look at least somewhat professional to show my portfolio, but I will be standing next to a guy dressed as Neo from the Matrix that looks exactly like a slimmer Keanu Reeves (my husband).
I need a little help from the awesome art community here at the moment.

Soooo I've been working on my professional portfolio.  Giving it a well needed update and what not.

When I've taken my portfolio to different companies in the past, they've always told me that they were interested in me as a colorist, but wanted to see how I'd do coloring line art and pencils done by others instead of my own stuff.  So I'm focusing an entire section in my portfolio just one line art other people have drawn that I have colored.

Right now, I'm taking whatever I can get my hands on, so if you have line art that you've drawn that you'd like to see me color and/or know of some decent quality line art that I can use, please let me know.

There are a few stipulations:
:bulletblue: - This is for my professional portfolio, so it has to be of good quality.
:bulletblue:  I'm looking for a good range of styles.
:bulletblue: - What I've done for this section of my portfolio so far has been mostly superheroes, so I'd like to try coloring other things besides superheroes.  I'm not saying that I won't accept more line art of superheroes, but I'll be pretty selective about it.
:bulletblue: - Anthro/furry art is okay to suggest... but I don't want a portfolio of nothing but furries, so I may limit how many of these that I accept.
:bulletblue: -  If the line art you are suggesting isn't yours, make sure that the artist is allowing others to color it.
:bulletblue: - I will NOT be making money off of this in any way, shape or form!  I will just make one print to use in my physical portfolio and will use it in my digital portfolio that I send to potential clients.  Whomever made teh line art will be credited for it.
:bulletblue: - Like the rest of what I've been doing for this portfolio, I will likely not be uploading it to my public galleries online.  However, if the line art belongs to you, I will mail you the result of what I've colored so you can see what I've done.  If you want, you can upload it to your own galleries as long as you give me credit for coloring it.

If you have line art for me to consider coloring, just post the link to it here.  I'll look through what you guys suggest and pick and choose what appeals to me and what I think will represent my portfolio the best.
I will be working on this portfolio for a good chunk of the summer and it will be done between other projects, so I may not get to it immediately.
:iconshotgunvalentine: has fallen on some extremely hard times (described in her journal - [link] and I'm giving a signal boost to help her out.  She's an absolutely fantastic artist whom I've had the pleasure of doing art trades with several times.  Go give her some support and maybe buy a commission from her.

Whil her examples are human, she can draw anthro as well.
An alternative to waiting for my egg adoptable rounds!  It's a more customized version of the grown-up form of my adoptables.  This is for those who want a character design from me and don't mind a little surprise!

Basically, you fill out a questionnaire about what you want your adoptable to be like and I will create a character for you from those specifications.  The catch is, that you won't get to see the design until it's complete.  Yes, it's a bit of a gamble, but if you love my egg adoptable designs, then you should be very happy with the end result since it's more personally tailored to what you want to get.

Hey all!  I just created a new tumblr account to post anything and everything that I find inspiring.  This could be landscapes, clothing or armor designs, tutorials or even funny pictures.  I try to post high quality images for others to use as reference material.  If this is relevant to your interests, have at it!

**I WILL NO LONGER BE ACCEPTING NEW APPLICATIONS FOR THIS GIVAWAY!  FOR THE NEXT WEEK I WILL DRAW ONE WINNER AT RANDOM A DAY AND DO SOME ART FOR THEM!  WINNERS WILL BE CONTACTED VIA NOTES!!!**

As a special thank you to all my watchers, I want to host a free art givaway!  This is a little chance for those who normally can't afford art from me to get a little something from me.
I will pick out a few people at random to draw some art for.  I won't have time to draw full sized pictures... but instead I will be doing several smaller things such as badges, avatars and maybe a sketch or two.  I don't have a set amount of art that I'm going to give away, whatever I have time to do.

If you'd like to get in on this, there are a few things you need to qualify.
-  You need to be watching me (this is a thank you to my followers after all)
-  Spread the word... and the love.  Post a new journal to tell others about this givaway with a link back to this journal!

Then, comment below with the following.  (No notes, please!  I want these all to be in the same place to make my life easier.  Notes about this will be ignored)
1.  A reference picture of your character (no written descriptions, please)
2.  A link to the journal where you advertise the giveaway.

I will leave this up for a week.  After the week is over, I will close this journal and randomly select a few lucky people and draw something nice for them.  Winners will be sent their arts VIA notes and I will probably make a big sketch dump of all the arts to submit so everyone can see.  :)

Thank you guys and good luck!
**It looks like my list is filling up!  If I'm already talking to you about the commission, then fear not... I still consider you on the list even if I haven't added you, yet!  If you haven't talked to me yet, you can still post your information but I can't promise I can fit you in!**

So, there are a few subjects and species that I really want to draw, so in hopes I can encourage people to get me to draw these, I'm going to offer a small amount of full illustrations at a discount.  I am offering these for $50 a piece, which is 50% off my normal commission price.

Give me 90 days to finish these.  It probably won't take me nearly that long to finish these, but I'll be working on these between other projects and want to give myself a realistic goal to finish these in that won't stress me out.  Payment is required within 48 hours of claiming a slot. I can't hold slots for these, sorry. >_<

One character with background.  If you'd like more then one character, let me know and we can work something out.  The commissions for this offer must contain one of the species or themes listed below.  If you don't have a character that fits any of these and want me to create one for you, I can do so:

Themes
*  Steampunk
*  Japanese
*  Science Fiction
*  Music
*  Warm Weather Activities (since I'm tired of winter)

Species
*  A Bird Species other then eagle/hawk/falcon
*  Unicorn
*  Bats
*  Chinese Dragon
*  Dinosaurs (any species)

If you'd like to claim a slot, just comment below with your character references.  Once I approve you, send payment and I will start working.

I'm not disclosing how many slots I have.  This will be open until I say it's closed.

SLOTS:

2.  MidnightVision (Will not be posted online) - Sketching
3.  Badjoe - Done! - [link]
4.  Yuri-Bloodfang - Sketching
5.  VoidPhoenix - [link]

I was finally able to buy myself a new computer to replace my old laptop, which is long overdue.
For the most part, I'm loving my new laptop more then any other computer I've had in the past.  However, Windows 8 blows monkeys.  If I would have wanted a giant iPhone, I would have just bought one.  Thankfully some third party programs make it run more or less like Windows 7, so it's not too bad.

That being said, I'm still getting used to my new setup so I'm going to take a few days to familiarize myself with it more before moving on to art that I owe people again to make sure I'm giving my clients the best art I can.  So if I owe you something, be patient with me.  I'll be back on it soon enough.
** I JUST RAN OUT OF INVITES!  BUT I'LL DO THIS AGAIN NEXT MONTH!**

It's been over a month since I've last done this, so I now have ten more invites to send out.  :)

If you'd like one, just post your email here and I'll send you one.  Please don't ask for one unless you are going to claim the invite, since I have a limited amount that I can send and want to make sure I can give them to those who really want it.
Just a quick note to let my watchers who are interested know that sometime tomorrow, I will be posting round 10 of my egg adoptables.
Just a quick note to say that in a week or so I will be retiring my 2013 calenders.  If you'd like to purchase one, this is your last chance because after that, they will be gone forever!

They can be purchased here - [link]
... I kinda have.

I've caught whatever viral infection that has been going around the last few days and I've been sick.  REALLY sick for the past week or so.  I thought I was getting better several times during this, but every day this illness finds something new to throw at me.

The latest thing that it's thrown at me... the last day and a half I've had a 103 degree fever.  Since then I've been confined to the couch where I spend all day sleeping, playing mah jong on my iPod and drinking Vernors (when I don't even like ginger ale).

Also... my throat has swollen to the size of a grapefruit, so I can barely talk today and must rely on speak bot to talk for me.

So to the people I owe art to, or anyone who's trying to contact me... please be patient.  I'll get to you when I can.  I'll try to answer emails and PMs, but chances are I won't be working on too much art until I'm feeling a little better.  I'd be stressing myself out way too much if I try to.
